Dario asked us to turn off our computer cameras and microphones (the digital equivalent to closing our eyes) and to silently think about, write down, and be ready to share the following experiences of sound from the year just passed:
- Rediscovered sounds (such as birds in the mid-day, a neighbor’s dog barking)
“I rediscovered the sound of my own breathing”
- New sounds (such as the sound of a new coffee maker, a neighbor’s new lawnmower)
“The sound of our new puppy’s nails on the linoleum”
- A sound that isn’t there any more (such as the sounds of the automobile you had to junk, a former roommate's steps, any workplace sound)
“The chipping sounds of reconstruction being done on my building during the pandemic”
